What happens when my Thuraya SIM Card expires

This page explains what happens when your Thuraya pre-paid sim card has reached the end of it's validity period and how to reactivate it if it hasn't been long since this date.

An annual renewal fee is automatically deducted from your prepaid account balance on the anniversary of your SIM activation. If there isn’t sufficient credit available, you have 90 days in which to recharge your account by purchasing airtime from Thuraya Recharge or your service provider. During this time, you can receive calls, but cannot make calls.  If you don’t recharge within 90 days, then the SIM card will expire and be deactivated.  You will loose any prepaid balance when your SIM card is deactivated.

If your SIM card has been deactivated, then you can contact your Thuraya Service Provider that supplied the SIM card and ask them to reactivate it for you.  There is usally a small fee for this, but it avoids the need to get a replacement card sent out to you.  Only the Thuraya Service provider that supplied the SIM card can reactivate it for you.  If you don't know who the service provider is, please contact us and we will look it up for you.

Please note that Thuraya Recharge supplies airtime for your phone and does not sell SIM Cards.  If you wish to buy a new SIM card, please contact a Thuraya Service Provider.  A list of them can be found at Thuraya.com.
